AZtecas midfielder Aztecinho has committed to MLS, according to a source close to the player.
Azteca signed a five-year contract with the Colorado Rapids on Monday and will be the third player from the country to join the league this year, following teammate Antonio Valencia and Aztecas defender Carlos Aguilar.
The 23-year-old Aztecs started his professional career in 2017, appearing in 15 games and making eight starts for the club.
The midfielder was also a member of AZtecan’s U-20 national team that won the 2017 Copa Sudamericana Championship.
He was named to the Mexico U-17 team in 2019.
Aguilar is also joining the league from Santos Laguna on a three-year deal, signing a deal that runs through 2021.
The 20-year old is currently on loan at the Santos Lagunas academy.
Alfredo is a native of São Paulo and is currently playing for Santos Lagunes side.
The 26-year year-old played for Santos and Santos Laguais second division side, Santos Lagúa, during the 2017 season, helping the club to the Copa Libertadores title and qualifying for the Copas del Rey.
A native of Brazil, the midfielder spent the past four seasons with Santos Laguas U-23 side.
